{"id":14,"name":"Robert Brewer","url":"","description":"I became interested in Native American cultures through participation in the Order of the Arrow service organization of the Boy Scouts in the 1950's, as many boys of my generation.\r\nI met Ralph Shanks in the 1960's at U C Berkeley and met Lawrence Dawson of the then Lowie Museum.  Larry was very kind in teaching us part of his great knowledge of California native material culture, especially basketry.  Ralph continued to learn from Larry throughout Larry's life.  I pursued collecting California baskets and re-connected with Ralph after seeing the publication of his first basket book.  I was invited to join the MAPOM Board when we returned to the Bay Area in 2013.","link":"https:\/\/new.mapom.org\/blog\/author\/bbrewer\/","slug":"bbrewer","avatar_urls":{"24":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/c08b1035b668b941b971a4bd73001d51?s=24&d=mm&r=g","48":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/c08b1035b668b941b971a4bd73001d51?s=48&d=mm&r=g","96":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/c08b1035b668b941b971a4bd73001d51?s=96&d=mm&r=g"},"meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/new.mapom.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/14","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/new.mapom.org\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users"}]}}
